SPECIAL THANKS
The cast and crew of The Outgoing Tide would like to thank all the individuals who have helped in the creation of this production. Without the efforts of so many supportive individuals, we could not have brought these special performances to our community.
Produced originally in November, 2022, this play was suggested by the late Jim Rolf, a Lifetime Member of CLTP. We are ever grateful for his extraordinary dedication to our theatre.
We are also grateful for the involvement of the Alzheimer’s Association, Wyoming Chapter; CRMC Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program; and the Univ. of Wyoming Center on Aging. Their work benefits our Cheyenne community every day.
Donna Fisher, the Regional Director of the American Association of Community Theatres, has been instrumental in creating this opportunity for us in the Rocky Mountain region. We thank her most sincerely.
The cast and crew would like to thank our driving force and guiding light, Jeff Tish. Without his effort and vision, we would not be going to Kentucky.
We are also deeply grateful for the rehearsal space provided to us by Arts Cheyenne at the Cheyenne Creativity Center. It was a great gift.
Finally, we would be most remiss if we did not extend our sincere gratitude to our managing director, Ceara Madsen, and our Box Office Associate, Cathie Chadwick, for their constant support and their cheerful and continuing efforts to assist us and every other production of the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players.

The cast and crew of The Outgoing Tide are humbled and deeply grateful for the generous contributions of our many supporters. Without your encouraging gifts, our participation in the American Association of Community Theater’s national competition in Louisville, Kentucky, would not be possible. We thank you so much.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
KENTUCKY AACT, HERE WE COME!
All contestant productions have followed the following adjudication guidelines during the qualification process for the national competition. The performance you see tonight is intended to be an exact duplicate of what has been done for qualification and what will be done for the competition in Louisville.
• Prior to the competition round, each company loads their respective set into the competition venue. The set is assembled and packed into a 10'x10'x10' space. This pack is inspected by adjudicators to guarantee the entire set is contained within the restricted space.
• Each company is allowed an 80 minute technical rehearsal prior to their competition performance. During that rehearsal the set will be rolled into place, assembled, actors will perform, set disassembled and repacked. Technical members will be working with the performance venue staff to guarantee lighting and sound effects are fully functional.
• On the day of performance, cast and technical crew gather in contact with the packaged set. On the command "Go!", a ten minute timer is started, the set
package is rolled into place, opened and completely assembled. All of this within a ten minute time span. Exceeding this time frame can result in disqualification.
• The performers then don respective costumes in a timely manner. The 60 minute performance window begins with the first cue of lights, sound effect, or speech. The performance must be completed within the 60 minute time frame. Exceeding this time frame can result in disqualification. The technical crew usually will keep a stopwatch in hand and the stage manager may order the light technician to go to black shortly before the time limit in order to avoid disqualification.
• Upon completion of the performance, actors have a short time period to recoup, remove costumes, and prepare for strike. They are joined by the same crew that assisted with assembly and on the "Go!" command, set disassembly and packing begins. The entire production must be repacked within the same 10'x10'x10' space from which it began, props and all. When completed, the team leader calls "Time!". This task must be completed under the ten minute time limit or it too could result in disqualification.
This performance is presented under the adjudicated procedures:
AACT Adjudication Guidelines
Among the criteria to be considered are:
Is the acting believable and technically skillful with effective timing?
Are the characters well interpreted?
Does the company display ensemble work?
Is the material appropriate for the company?
Is the concept appropriate for the material and realized by the Company?
Has the structure of the production been controlled?
Are the movements and stage pictures effective?
Is the production well paced?
Do the technical elements support the overall production?
How effective was the total impact?
Focus is to be placed on positive solutions to problems the companies have with production issues by suggesting alternative possibilities. Productions may advance to other festivals; these companies should be able to benefit by incorporating the adjudicator’ comments. Caution: the adjudicator should not redirect the show.
Any question of rule violation may be addressed by the Festival Commissioner, whose decision shall be final. Adjudicators must focus attention on the performances, not possible rule violations.
Today’s performance is presented under the competition guidelines of the American Association of Community Theaters. The performance consists of three times segments:
A ten minute segment for set construction beginning from a ten foot square containing all set pieces.
A sixty minute window for the edited performance presentation and';
A ten minutes window for set strike returning all set pieces to the ten foot starting cube.
There are no opening comments or curtain call. Adjudicator comments are immediately following completion of the set strike.
